When the grand finale of Lexie Harrington’s catwalk show ends with a disastrous twist on the ‘ice bucket challenge’, she was expected her highly-strung boss to fire her on the spot. What she wasn’t expecting was to bump into her fiancé cosied up with an attractive blonde in the restaurant opposite their apartment!

Desperate to escape her heartbreak, Lexie flees to her childhood home of St Ives to hold the fort at The Cornish Confetti Agency for her best friend Freya, leader of the yummy mummy network and firm believer in ‘happily ever afters’. Little did she know that delivering a Caribbean-themed wedding in sunny Cornwall would rival the fashion industry for drama, tantrums and mysterious goings on.

Who is responsible for dousing the bridesmaid’s dress with tomato ketchup? Or hiding the bride’s beloved Jimmy Choos? Or attaching google eyes to everything in sight? The perfect Cornish wedding? Is there such a thing for The Cornish Confetti Agency?

I would like to thank Rachel from Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to take part in the book tour for The Cornish Confetti Agency. If you would like to check out the other stops on the tour, there is more information here as well as at the end of this post.

Anyone who has experienced the drama and chaos surrounding the organisation of a wedding will get a real kick out of The Cornish Confetti Agency, the first novel in a new series by Daisy James. When Lexie Harrington finds herself without a job and newly single, she moves back home to Cornwall in order to help a friend in need. Marley, the owner of The Cornish Confetti Agency wedding planning service has had to rush off to California to help out her sister following an accident, and Lexie has taken her place. Lexie has never organised a wedding before, and she never expected that there would be so much drama.

When things start to go wrong during Lexie’s first wedding weekend, it is up to Lexie and the wedding journalist Theo to find the culprit. Who squirted tomato ketchup all over the bridesmaid’s dress? Who stole the bride’s £700 Jimmy Choos? Who has been organising various pranks around the luxurious wedding venue and hotel in idyllic Cornwall? The antics of the prankster are hilarious and entertaining, although I’m not sure that I would say the same if it were my own wedding! I found myself increasingly curious as I read, and I was definitely surprised when the culprit was revealed.

The Cornish Confetti Agency is a delightful novel. The mystery elements are really clever, the budding romance between Lexie and Theo is incredibly sweet, and the vivid descriptions of beautiful Cornwall made me want to book a holiday there as soon as I can. This book is the escape that I needed during these anxious times we are currently living in. I highly recommend The Cornish Confetti Agency for anyone who is looking for a sweet romantic comedy with elements of mystery. I for one cannot wait to catch up with these characters again in the second book in the series.

Daisy James is a Yorkshire girl transplanted to the north east of England. She loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something pink and fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea – china plates and teacups are a must. Daisy would love to hear from readers via her Facebook page or you can follow her on Twitter @daisyjamesbooks or on Instagram @booksdaisyjames.
