Welcome to my newest Top Ten Tuesday post. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you just have to list your top ten responses to the prompt. This week’s prompt is a book cover freebie. I am going to focus on my favourite book covers from books that I read in 2019.
Well, here goes.
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street – Natasha Pulley: I didn’t particularly enjoy this book, from what I remember. However, the cover is amazing. It also contains some subtle hints about the plot, which is so clever.
The Nest – Cynthia d’Aprix Sweeney: I love this cover. It is just so gorgeous and well done, and it is definitely part of the reason that I read this book. The other reason is that Amy Poehler praised it…
The Light Between Us – Katie Khan: This cover is mesmerising. I remember seeing it in the bookstore and being unable to walk away without a copy.
The Great Alone – Kristen Hannah: This cover is so well done. It looks quite simple at first glance, but it is actually a multi-layer image which conveys the tone of the book so well.
Everything I Know About Love – Dolly Alderton: Perhaps this is not the traditional beautiful cover, but I love it. It definitely caught my attention. Also, if you have not read this book yet, please do.
The Familiars – Stacey Halls: I bet this cover is on a lot of Top Ten Tuesday lists today. I mean, just look at it. It’s stunning.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette – Maria Semple: You know how sometimes you just know that you are going to enjoy a book based on the cover (even though we’re not supposed to do that….)? Well, that’s how I felt about this book. And I was right!
The Giver of Stars – JoJo Moyes: There are a few different covers for this book, but this is definitely my favourite one.
Twenty-One Truths About Love – Matthew Dicks: This book cover looks like an Instagram post.
Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane – Ellen Berry: This list wouldn’t be complete without a cozy, festive cover. This book cover just makes me miss Christmas…
Which cover is your favourite?
